After a long lasting period without any tests we now have the DVB-s2 USB-box with the integrated CI-module.
How this small little box reacted to our testing you can read in here!
Other manufacturers should be worried about this box and draw some conclusions!

TechnoTrend offers a tv-card based solution for the upcoming dvb-s2 standard.
Shortly after the release of the dvb-card there has been released a CI-module, with whom you can watch encrypted PayTV Channels.
With a fitting smartcard and a cam-module you can watch nearly every pay-tv channel you want to.
Astra and several tv-broadcasters are thinking over a base encryption of their channels - called 'Entavio'.
Despite there are a lot of people against this base encryption, it is realistic to prepare yourself for such a situation.
A DVB-card without CI-Module wouldn't be able to decrypt such an encryption without a CI-module. This way it also offers a free choice of CAM - modules because you can use nearly every CAM-module with the TT-DVB-S2 CI that is currently available at the market.

TechnoTrend released its first tv-card, the S2-3200, for the broadcasting-standard DVB-S2, that is able to receive for example Sat.1HD, Pro7HD and other channels. This motivated HDTVTotal.com to check and review it, whether this tv-card-solution can keep up with KNC1's TV-Station DVB-S2 Plus. If the card is already worth to buy you can read here.
Realy intersting for readers with HTPCs and BDA-software!

Everyone who waited for his problem child HDTV for a long time, because he wanted to be future-proofed and did not want to buy the first best tv-card, can breathe a sigh of relief now, because with the TV-Station DVB-S2 Plus the time of waiting is finally over. KNC1 launched the first functioning DVB-S2 TV-card and accomplished bridging between SDTV via DVB-S and HDTV via DVB-S2, which just accomplished some few manufacturers with their set-top boxes licenced for the German pay-TV channel "Premiere".
KNC ONE kindly provided us with an early version of their card, which we will present to you in here. And even in this circumstances we may expect big results.

For our first hardware test we devoted FireDTV-S CI, an external FireWire DVB-S receiver-box by Digital-Everywhere, this extensive review. Besides flawless playback of current hdtv-channels the consistently good functionality and a slot for the CAM-module (pay-TV), the external box offers the advantages to work with notebooks and desktop computers without a free PCI-slot. Another point is transportability, which normal TV-cards are not meant for.
