hi,
some of you allready noticed our new gallery section "HDTV-Covers"
Its about Covers for HDTV movies by fans 4 fans.
Anyone is welcome to post/ulpoad their selfmade cover into it so anyone could see it and vote for/against it.
First of all a big thank you to all of the creators of allready posted covers!
they are all great and definitely worth a closer look.
BUT now the rules.
I wrote something to explain how we want you to post your file.
it is not difficult and does not limit you in any way, it is just easier for us to sort the pics.
The following text is not the final one, so please feel free to add anything you would like to see or know about it and i will add it!
HDTV-Movie Covers
HDTVtotal.com invites you to present your handmade covers of your self recorded HD-movie archieves.
I if you are a gifted designer, feel free to upload your covers into our gallery. Other user are able to respond to these pictures by posting comments or rating it. That is a good way to honor your work.
Newbies are welcome to download our cover template and start trying to create their own projects and of course to upload theier master pieces when thei are good enough.
Rules:
There are certain rules for creating a HDTV movie cover:
Please fill in the needed information about the movie
Mainfield:
Released by: "GROUP or PERSON"/ Release Date: "DATE"
Running Time: ### minutes
Video: HDTV "SIZE 1920 x 1080i or 1280 x 720p" / Audio "SOUND standard and ### kbps "
Medium: "Transport Stream, WMVHD, etc" / Size: ### gb
Sub: "language(s)" / Dub: "language(s)" both just if needed
LOGOS:
Choose your icons for channel, format, sound and how many dvds are used
SIGN:
And finally create a sign for "High Definition 1080i or 720p DVD"
Please follow this simple rules and the only limit in designing is your imagination.
pics of original formulars for mainfield, logos and sign
Right now, we support Photoshop templates *.PSD created by sheep.
(we have a updated version of this tempkate with more layers and icons by ikklepip, a label template by eyebo- and a template for kingdom hospital, these will be released when i post the final version of these info page!)
http://www.world-of-arcades.com/HDTV/Template_V1.0.zip
If you use another software or another template design please let us know and send it to our email addresse staff@hdtvtotal.de and we will host it, too
Giving them names:
the final version of you covers should get a proper name.
to handle the many versions of covers, we want you to stick to a format to name your files
the basic version for covers is:
titel#_creator_version_language
just use low "_"!
titel = titel of the movie (please the real titel! including "the"), please keep it short, but for long titels you could use common nicks like lotr for lord of the rings
# = number of the movie. if you know there is more than one movie please start with 1
creator = your nick. the best way in getting reactions on your pic is to put in your nick at hdtvtotal.com, so the user could send you a pm via forum
version = you often create more than 1 cover for it, because of later added soundtrack etc
language = use eng, ger, fr, es, etc for suffix. that explains what language is used on the cover.
eg: Spiderman1_horn_v1_ger
for labels just add the Labels tag
titel#_creator_label_version_language
if you want to add more infos please do it this way
worst case:
StarTrek_Enterprise_s1ep02_disc1_creator_v1DD5.1_ger
befor uploading your picture please check our gallery for the same movie cover and you could orientate after the allready given name, thats would be the easiest way
if anybody uses the same way in nameing them its easier to find the covers/labels and the many covers and labels to one titel will be sorted next to each other. so if somebody writes TheMatrix and the other one just Matrix it will not displayed next to them, because of alphabetic reasons.
You can enter our "Covers Gallery"[link] here or via "Gallery" (top navigation) and see some mavelous works
Thank you to all of you!
This text is not final. Ikklepip is also working on that! |

hi,
i have a big request!
would any of you write a short how to for designing/creating covers and labels?
i want to finish our covers information page http://www.hdtvtotal.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-261.html , and therefor i would need a how-to for designing it using one of the common templates.
it just should contain.
which prgramm is needed
how to design it
which data is needed
and which logos (dolby, dts, wmv etc) have to be place where on the cover.
and please, do describe it with pictures. it would be easier to understand.
please, it will be of use for us all, if newbies gain experience in creating covers, which any of us could use.
it should not be long, just the basics, so it wouldn't be a problem for you guys
please! |

Just read your tutorial request.
I guess this request will be hard to fulfill, because it is virtually impossible to write a short tutorial for cover creation.
Someone who is already familiar with Photoshop should just download the template and start playing around.
Those who have never worked with Photoshop will have to learn the basics first.
This includes layers, splices, masks, layer masks, adjustment layers, fill layers, and so on.
Not all of this is essential, but most of this is needed at some point during the process of creating a cover.
If I stumble across some useful tutorials, I will post them here.

Warum werden so viele Regeln für die Erstellung dieses Covers vorgegeben? Ich würde es besser finden, wenn man sein Cover sogestalten darf, wie es einem am besten gefällt. |
